TE TŪAHO O AORAKI
This half-length Kākahu was a commissioned piece by Matatū Women's Super Rugby Team which represents the entire South Island. This cloak embodies their four key values of Tūmanawa (determined sacrifice), Tūaho (legacy), Tūhono (connections), and Tūtira (unity). I collaborated with the players and staff, getting them to prepare feathers which described and defined their past, present, and future. Then, I wove these feathers into the top row of the Kākahu for the team to proudly carry each other through the season and beyond.

This project was an incredible experience and I am incredibly grateful to Matatū for reaching out to me. I would love to do more similar projects like this in the future, so please contact me to find out more.
